You are the rock where I am safe. You are my shield, my powerful weapon, and my place of shelter. You rescue me and keep me from being hurt.

and he asked Joram, “Why did you come to me? Go and talk to the prophets of the foreign gods your parents worshipped.” “No,” Joram answered. “It was the LORD who led us out here, so that Moab's army could capture us.”

Don't make treaties with the people there, or you will soon find yourselves worshipping their gods and taking part in their sacrificial meals.

Their fortress will fall when terror strikes; their army officers will be frightened and run from the battle. This is what the LORD has said, the LORD whose fiery furnace is built on Mount Zion.

Then they will offer sacrifices to their other gods and ask them for help. After all, the people of Judah have more gods than towns, and more altars for Baal than there are streets in Jerusalem. But those gods won't be able to rescue the people of Judah from disaster.

Go and cry to the gods you made! There should be enough of them to save you, because Judah has as many gods as it has towns.

Have you locked up the prophets who lied to you and said that the king of Babylonia would never attack Jerusalem?
