It is just as the Scriptures say, “Don't muzzle an ox when you are using it to grind grain.” You also know the saying, “Workers are worth their pay.”

Do not steal anything or cheat anyone, and don't fail to pay your workers at the end of each day.

And don't carry a travelling bag or an extra shirt or sandals or a walking stick. Workers deserve their food.

Stay with the same family, eating and drinking whatever they give you, because workers are worth what they earn. Don't move around from house to house.

The Scriptures say that no one who has faith will be disappointed,

God did not turn his back on his chosen people. Don't you remember reading in the Scriptures how Elijah complained to God about the people of Israel?

The Scriptures say, “God accepted Abraham because Abraham had faith in him.”

In the Scriptures the Lord says to Pharaoh of Egypt, “I let you become king, so that I could show you my power and be praised by all people on earth.”

In the same way, the Lord wants everyone who preaches the good news to make a living from preaching this message.

Long ago the Scriptures said that God would accept the Gentiles because of their faith. That's why God told Abraham the good news that all nations would be blessed because of him.

Don't muzzle an ox while it is threshing grain.

Do you doubt the Scriptures that say, “God truly cares about the Spirit he has put in us”?
