So when David wanted to build a temple for the LORD God of Israel,
the LORD said, “It's good that you want to build a temple where I can be worshipped.
He said: My son, I wanted to build a temple where the LORD my God would be worshipped.
After everyone was there, David stood up and said: Listen to me, my people. I wanted to build a place where the sacred chest would be kept, so we could go there and worship the LORD our God. I have prepared all the supplies for building a temple,
until I find a home for you, the mighty LORD God of Jacob.”
