In fact, there was so much grain that they stopped keeping record, because it was like counting the grains of sand along the beach.

So I'll make you wiser than anyone who has ever lived or ever will live.

Everyone in Israel was amazed when they heard how Solomon had made his decision. They realized that God had given him wisdom to judge fairly.

There were so many people living in Judah and Israel while Solomon was king that they seemed like grains of sand on a beach. Everyone had enough to eat and drink, and they were happy.

I am eager to learn all that you want me to do; help me to understand more and more.

Help me to understand your Law; I promise to obey it with all my heart.

All wisdom comes from the LORD, and so do common sense and understanding.

I said to myself, “You are by far the wisest person who has ever lived in Jerusalem. You are eager to learn, and you have learnt a lot.”

You control human events— you give rulers their power and take it away, and you are the source of wisdom and knowledge.

They are eager to destroy, and they gather captives like handfuls of sand.

Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father who created all the lights in the heavens. He is always the same and never makes dark shadows by changing.

If any of you need wisdom, you should ask God, and it will be given to you. God is generous and won't correct you for asking.

But the wisdom that comes from above leads us to be pure, friendly, gentle, sensible, kind, helpful, genuine, and sincere.

The camp was huge. The Midianites, Amalekites, and other eastern nations covered the valley like a swarm of locusts. And it would be easier to count the grains of sand on a beach than to count their camels.
