Elijah picked him up and carried him downstairs. He gave the boy to his mother and said, “Look, your son is alive.”

Once, while some Israelites were burying a man's body, they saw a group of Moabites. The Israelites quickly threw the body into Elisha's tomb and ran away. As soon as the man's body touched the bones of Elisha, the man came back to life and stood up.

Jesus went over and touched the stretcher on which the people were carrying the dead boy. They stopped, and Jesus said, “Young man, get up!”

Jesus took hold of the girl's hand and said, “Child, get up!”

When Jesus had finished praying, he shouted, “Lazarus, come out!”

Then the followers took the young man home alive and were very happy.

This is because Christ died and rose to life, so that he would be the Lord of the dead and of the living.

Don't you understand? I am the only God; there are no others. I am the one who takes life and gives it again. I punished you with suffering. But now I will heal you, and nothing can stop me!

Some women received their loved ones back from death. Many of these people were tortured, but they refused to be released. They were sure that they would get a better reward when the dead are raised to life.

But three and a half days later, God will breathe life into their bodies. They will stand up, and everyone who sees them will be terrified.

You take away life, and you give life. You send people down to the world of the dead and bring them back again.
