That's not it at all. There's a man in your town from the hill country of Ephraim. His name is Sheba, and he is the leader of a rebellion against King David. Turn him over to me, and we will leave your town alone.” The woman told Joab, “We will throw his head over the wall.”

Solomon's wife, the daughter of the king of Egypt, moved from the older part of Jerusalem to her new palace. Then Solomon had the land on the east side of Jerusalem filled in.

At the end of his rule, some of his officers rebelled against him. Jozabad son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer murdered him in a building where the land was filled in on the east side of Jerusalem, near the road to Silla. Joash was buried beside his ancestors in Jerusalem, and his son Amaziah became king.

But Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the people from the city of Ashdod saw the walls going up and the holes being repaired. So they became angry

You made the earth shake and split wide open; now heal its wounds and stop its trembling.

If you are foolishly boasting or planning something evil, then stop it now!

You saw the holes in the outer wall of Jerusalem, and you brought water from the lower pool.

Your hand is raised and ready to punish them, but they don't see it. Put them to shame! Show how much you care for us and throw them into the fire intended for your enemies.

They don't warn the people about coming trouble or tell them how dangerous it is to sin against me.

In the future, I will rebuild David's fallen kingdom. I will build it from its ruins and set it up again, just as it used to be.
