A woman should wear something on her head. It is a disgrace for a woman to shave her head or cut her hair. But if she refuses to wear something on her head, let her cut off her hair.

After Paul had stayed for a while with the Lord's followers in Corinth, he said goodbye to them and sailed on to Syria with Aquila and Priscilla. But before he left, he had his head shaved at Cenchreae because he had made a promise to God.

But any woman who prays or prophesies without something on her head brings shame to her head. In fact, she may as well shave her head.

Men were created to be like God and to bring honour to God. This means that a man should not wear anything on his head. Women were created to bring honour to men.

Women must not pretend to be men, and men must not pretend to be women. The LORD your God is disgusted with people who do that.
