They trust in their riches and boast about all their wealth.

King of Assyria, can an axe or a saw overpower the one who uses it? Can a wooden pole lift whoever holds it?

The LORD says: Don't boast about your wisdom or strength or wealth.

Because of Christ Jesus, I can take pride in my service for God.

We know that everything in the Law was written for those who are under its power. The Law says these things to stop anyone from making excuses and to let God show that the whole world is guilty.

What is left for us to boast about? Not a thing! Is it because we obeyed some law? No! It is because of faith.

If he became acceptable to God because of what he did, then he would have something to boast about. But he would never be able to boast about it to God.

So if you want to boast, do what the Scriptures say and boast about the Lord.

What is so special about you? What do you have that you were not given? And if it was given to you, how can you boast?

Stop being proud! Don't you know how a little yeast can spread through the whole batch of dough?

It isn't something you have earned, so there is nothing you can boast about.
