That night, the LORD told Nathan

Nathan replied, “The LORD is with you—do what you want.”

to go to David and tell him: David, you are my servant, so listen carefully: you are not the one to build a temple for me.

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, you will hear a voice saying, “This is the road! Now follow it.”

Whatever the LORD God plans to do, he tells his servants, the prophets.

Then after commanding them to listen carefully, he said: “I, the LORD, speak to prophets in visions and dreams.
