He decided not to take it there. Instead, he turned off the road and took it to the home of Obed-Edom, who was from Gath.

The sacred chest had been kept on Mount Zion, also known as the city of David. But Solomon decided to have the chest moved to the temple while everyone was in Jerusalem, celebrating the Festival of Shelters during Ethanim, the seventh month of the year. Solomon called together the important leaders of Israel.

beautiful and majestic, brings joy to all on earth. Mount Zion, truly sacred, is home for the Great King.

Instead he chose the tribe of Judah, and he chose Mount Zion, the place he loves.

and he loves that city more than any other place in all of Israel.

God Most High will strengthen the city of Zion. Then everyone will say, “We were born here too.”

You rule from Zion, LORD, and we sing about you to let the nations know everything you have done.

just as God says in the Scriptures, “Look! I am placing in Zion a stone to make people stumble and fall. But those who have faith in that one will never be disappointed.”

You have now come to Mount Zion and to the heavenly Jerusalem. This is the city of the living God, where thousands and thousands of angels have come to celebrate.

I looked and saw the Lamb standing on Mount Zion! With him were a hundred and forty-four thousand, who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads.

But the Levite decided not to spend the night there again. He had the saddles put on his two donkeys, then he and his wife and servant travelled as far as Jebus, which is now called Jerusalem.

David asked some soldiers standing nearby, “What will a man get for killing this Philistine and stopping him from insulting our people? Who does that worthless Philistine think he is? He's making fun of the army of the living God!”

Sir, I have killed lions and bears that way, and I can kill this worthless Philistine. He shouldn't have made fun of the army of the living God!
