AFTER TWO full years, Pharaoh dreamed that he stood by the river [Nile].

Then the chief butler said to Pharaoh, I remember my faults today.

And the king said, What honor or distinction has been given Mordecai for this? Then the king's servants who ministered to him said, Nothing has been done for him.

My kinsfolk have failed me, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.

Until his word [to his cruel brothers] came true, until the word of the Lord tried and tested him.

I am forgotten like a dead man, and out of mind; like a broken vessel am I.

For I have heard the slander of many; terror is on every side! While they schemed together against me, they plotted to take my life.

Who drink wine in bowls and anoint themselves with the finest oils, but are not grieved and sick at heart over the affliction and ruin of Joseph (Israel)! [Gen. 49:22, 23.]
