Leah said, God has given me my hire, because I have given my maid to my husband; and she called his name Issachar [hired].

And God heeded Leah's [prayer], and she conceived and bore Jacob [her] fifth son.

And Leah became pregnant again and bore Jacob [her] sixth son.

The sons of Leah: Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.

The sons of Issachar: Tola, Puvah, Iob, and Shimron.

And of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs; and all their kinsmen were under their command;

And of Zebulun he said: Rejoice, Zebulun, in your interests abroad, and you, Issachar, in your tents [at home].
