So Absalom sent for Joab to send him to the king, but he would not come to him; even when he sent again the second time, he would not come.

Absalom dwelt two full years in Jerusalem and did not see the king's face.

But Queen Vashti refused to come at the king's command conveyed by the eunuchs. Therefore the king was enraged, and his anger burned within him.

And sent his servants to summon those who had been invited to the wedding banquet, but they refused to come.
