So it was that the word of Samuel went forth to all Israel. Now Israel went out against the Philistines in battle. They camped at Eben-ezer while the Philistines camped in Aphek.


Now the Philistines had taken the ark of God and they brought it from Eben-ezer to Ashdod.


Then the men of Israel went out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, and struck them down all the way to below Beth-car.
