29 And Sovereign Yoram went back to Yizre‛ĕl to recover from the wounds with which the Arameans had stricken him at Ramah, when he fought against Ḥaza’ĕl sovereign of Aram. Then Aḥazyahu son of Yehoram, the sovereign of Yehuḏah, went down to see Yoram son of Aḥaḇ in Yizre‛ĕl, for he was sick.

And a man drew a bow in his simplicity, and struck the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl between the joints of his armour. And he said to the driver of his chariot, “Turn around and take me out of the battle, for I am wounded.”


Yĕhu met the brothers of Aḥazyahu sovereign of Yehuḏah, and said, “Who are you?” And they answered, “We are brothers of Aḥazyahu, and we have come down to greet the sons of the sovereign and the sons of the sovereigness mother.”


And he went with Yoram son of Aḥaḇ to battle against Ḥaza’ĕl sovereign of Aram at Ramoth Gil‛aḏ, and the Arameans struck Yoram.


And Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, “Gird your loins and take this flask of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gil‛aḏ.


Thus Yĕhu son of Yehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, conspired against Yoram – now Yoram had been guarding Ramoth Gil‛aḏ, he and all Yisra’ĕl, against Ḥaza’ĕl sovereign of Aram.


And their border was toward Yizre‛ĕl, and Kesulloth, and Shunĕm,
