“Have you not thrown out the priests of יהוה, the sons of Aharon, and the Lĕ


Thus they changed My esteem Into the form of an ox that eats grass.


Their idols are silver and gold, The work of men’s hands.


But You, O יהוה, are a shield for me, My esteem, and the One lifting up my head.


and have put their mighty ones into the fire, for they were not mighty ones, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone. And they destroyed them.


Would a man make mighty ones for himself, which are not mighty ones?


Therefore thus said יהוה, “Ask now among the nations, who has heard the like of this? The maiden of Yisra’ĕ


Thus said יהוה, “What unrighteousness have your fathers found in Me, that they have gone far from Me, and went after worthlessness, and became worthless?


“The priests did not say, ‘Where is יהוה ?’ And those who handle the Torah did not know Me, and the shepherds transgressed against Me, and the prophets prophesied by Baʽ


“Why should I pardon you for this? Your children have forsaken Me and sworn by those that are not mighty ones. When I had filled them up, they then committed adultery and they thronged to the house of a whore.


in order to lay hold of the house of Yisra’ĕ


“Therefore thus said the Master יהוה, ‘Because you have rebelled more than the gentiles all around you, and have not walked in My laws, nor done My right-rulings, nor even done according to the right-rulings of the gentiles all around you,’


For all the peoples walk, each one in the name of his mighty one, but we walk in the Name of יהוה  our Elohim forever and ever.


and changed the esteem of the incorruptible Elohim into the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds and of four-footed beasts and of reptiles.


So then, concerning the eating of food offered to idols, we know that an idol is no matter at all in the world, and that there is no other Elohim but one.


But then, indeed, not knowing Elohim, you served those which by nature are not mighty ones.


“They moved Him to jealousy with foreign matters, With abominations they provoked Him.


“They made Me jealous by what is not Ě


“Blessed are you, O Yisra’ĕ


knowing that you were redeemed from your futile way of life inherited from your fathers, not with what is corruptible, silver or gold,


And she called the child Iḵ
