There is a crying for wine in the streets; all joy shall be darkened, the gladness of the earth shall be gone.


The earth shall mourn and wither, the world shall languish and wither, the haughty people of the earth shall languish.


The new wine shall fail, the vine shall languish, all those glad at heart shall sigh.


And her gates shall lament and mourn, and she, deserted, shall sit on the ground.

For the vineyard of יהוה  of hosts is the house of Yisra’ĕ


Therefore thus said יהוה, “See, I am bringing evil on them which they are unable to escape. Then they shall cry out to Me, but I shall not listen to them.


“They have laid it waste – a waste, it mourns to Me. All the land is laid waste, because no one takes it to heart.


How long shall the land mourn, and the plants of every field wither? The beasts and birds are consumed, for the evil of those who dwell there, because they said, “He does not see our latter ending.”


Let a cry be heard from their houses, when You bring a raiding party suddenly upon them. For they have dug a pit to take me, and laid snares for my feet.


“On account of this, let the earth mourn and the heavens above be dark, because I have spoken, because I have purposed and shall not relent, nor do I turn back from it.”


Nations have heard of your shame, and your cry has filled the land. For the mighty has stumbled against the mighty, they have both fallen together.


For the breach of the daughter of my people I have been broken. I have grown sad; astonishment has seized me.


יהוה  has planned to destroy The wall of the daughter of Tsiyon. He has stretched out a line. He has not turned back His hand from destroying. And He has made the rampart and wall to lament; Together they have languished.


Her gates have sunk into the ground. He has destroyed and broken her bars. Her sovereign and her rulers are among the gentiles. The Torah is no more, And her prophets have found no vision from יהוה.


Our skin has become as hot as an oven, Because of the burning heat of scarcity of food.


“Therefore the land mourns, and everyone living there languishes, with the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens. And the fish of the sea are taken away.


The field is ravaged, the ground has mourned, for the grain is ruined, the new wine has dried up, the oil fails.


The farmers are ashamed, the vinedressers wail over the wheat and over the barley, for the harvest of the field is destroyed.


Set apart a fast. Call an assembly, gather the elders, all the inhabitants of the land, into the House of יהוה  your Elohim, and cry out to יהוה.


Before them peoples are in anguish, all faces become flushed.


“And I called for a drought on the land, and on the mountains, and on the grain, and on the new wine, and on the oil, and on whatever the ground brings forth, and on man, and on livestock, and on all the labour of the hands.”


“And it came to be: as He called and they did not hear, so let them call, but I shall not hear,” said יהוה  of hosts.


And the men who did not die were smitten with tumours, and the cry of the city went up to the heavens.


“At this time tomorrow I shall send you a man from the land of Binyamin, and you shall anoint him leader over My people Yisra’ĕ
