Thy wrath and indignation did cause this grief and pain; For thou hast lift me up on high, and cast me down again.


For upon me both day and night thine hand did heavy lie, So that my moisture turned is in summer's drought thereby.


In thy great indignation, O Lord, rebuke me not; Nor on me lay thy chast'ning hand, in thy displeasure hot.
