I in my trouble sought the Lord, my sore by night did run, And ceased not; my grieved soul did consolation shun.


Because thy mercy toward me in greatness doth excel; And thou deliver'd hast my soul out from the lowest hell.


But, Lord, to thee I cry'd; my pray'r at morn prevent shall thee.


God's mercies I will ever sing; and with my mouth I shall Thy faithfulness make to be known to generations all.
