For poor oppress'd, and for the sighs of needy, rise will I, Saith God, and him in safety set from such as him defy.


My sp'rit is therefore overwhelm'd in me perplexedly; Within me is my very heart amazed wondrously.


Haste, Lord, to hear, my spirit fails: hide not thy face from me; Lest like to them I do become that go down to the dust.


He will accomplish the desire of those that do him fear: He also will deliver them, and he their cry will hear.


In my distress I call'd on God, cry to my God did I; He from his temple heard my voice, to his ears came my cry.


Attend my cry, Lord, at my tears and pray'rs not silent be: I sojourn as my fathers all, and stranger am with thee.


My soul is poured out in me, when this I think upon; Because that with the multitude I heretofore had gone: With them into God's house I went, with voice of joy and praise; Yea, with the multitude that kept the solemn holy days.


Hear my loud cry, my King, my God; for I to thee will pray.


From th' utmost corner of the land my cry to thee I'll send. What time my heart is overwhelm'd, and in perplexity, Do thou me lead unto the Rock that higher is than I.


Ye people, place your confidence in him continually; Before him pour ye out your heart: God is our refuge high.


I to remembrance God did call, yet trouble did remain; And overwhelm'd my spirit was, whilst I did sore complain.
