Joshua 10:12 - New King James Version

12 Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”

So Isaiah the prophet cried out to the Lord, and He brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down on the sundial of Ahaz.

“But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him.”


The sun and moon stood still in their habitation; At the light of Your arrows they went, At the shining of Your glittering spear.


Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord, for He is aroused from His holy habitation!”


who has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, either the sun or moon or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded,


And take heed, lest you lift your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, you feel driven to worship them and serve them, which the Lord your God has given to all the peoples under the whole heaven as a heritage.


So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.
