But Jehosh´abeath, the daughter of the king, took Jo´ash the son of Ahazi´ah, and stole him from among the king's sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehosh´abeath, the daughter of king Jeho´ram, the wife of Jehoi´ada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahazi´ah,) hid him from Athali´ah, so that she slew him not.


And in the seventh year Jehoi´ada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azari´ah the son of Jero´ham, and Ish´ma-el the son of Jeho´hanan, and Azari´ah the son of Obed, and Ma-asei´ah the son of Adai´ah, and Elish´aphat the son of Zichri, into covenant with him.


The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.


For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.


For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.


When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.


Righteous art thou, O Lord, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?


Art thou not from everlasting, O Lord my God, mine Holy One? We shall not die. O Lord, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.
