And Ben–ha´dad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me.


And they slew every one his man: and the Syrians fled; and Israel pursued them: and Ben–ha´dad the king of Syria escaped on a horse with the horsemen.


And it came to pass at the return of the year, that Ben–ha´dad numbered the Syrians, and went up to Aphek, to fight against Israel.


And they pitched one over against the other seven days. And so it was, that in the seventh day the battle was joined: and the children of Israel slew of the Syrians a hundred thousand footmen in one day.


And Micai´ah said, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.


And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him.


and when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehosh´aphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;


And Micai´ah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.


With the merciful thou wilt show thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt show thyself upright;


And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.


therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.


He that fleeth from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the Lord.


Now I Nebuchadnez´zar praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.


As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.


and though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them:


Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Silo´am fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?


from the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Me-a´rah that is beside the Sido´nians, unto Aphek, to the borders of the Amorites:


And Abim´elech chased him, and he fled before him, and many were overthrown and wounded, even unto the entering of the gate.


Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek: and the Israelites pitched by a fountain which is in Jezreel.
