And this thing became sin unto the house of Jerobo´am, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the face of the earth.


Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Ba´asha slay him, and reigned in his stead.


And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he slew all the house of Ba´asha: he left him not one that pisseth against a wall, neither of his kinsfolk, nor of his friends.


behold, I will take away the posterity of Ba´asha, and the posterity of his house; and will make thy house like the house of Jerobo´am the son of Nebat.

But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jerobo´am, which made Israel to sin.


Hast thou not heard long ago how I have done it, and of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps.
