But He answered and said to them, "I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out."


Therefore produce fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say among yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham out of these stones.


But when Jesus perceived their reasonings, He answered and said to them, "Why are you reasoning in your hearts?


Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke within himself, saying, "This [Man], if He were a prophet, would know who and what sort of woman [this is] who touches Him, for she is a sinner."


They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How [can] you say, 'You will become free'?"


"I know that you are Abraham's descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word finds no place in you.


"Are You greater than our father Abraham, who died? Also the prophets died. Whom do You make Yourself [out to be]?"


"Men, brothers, sons of the race of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to you the message of this salvation has been sent.


Simeon has declared how God first visited [them ]to take from the Gentiles a people for His name.


What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh?
