From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go off to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised the third day.


Jesus answered and said to them, "Elijah truly does come first, and shall restore all things.


Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them of John the Baptist.


And while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men,


And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, "Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead."


For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him; but you, having seen, did not repent afterwards, that you might believe him.


And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have dens, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."


"For John the Baptist has come neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.'


He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.


Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you took, and by lawless hands, nailing [Him] to a cross, you killed [Him];


let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by this[ name] this [man] stands here before you whole.


Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold about the coming of the Righteous One, of whom you have now become betrayers and murderers,
