But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.


because it does not enter into his heart but into his stomach, and passes into the latrine, [thus] purifying all foods?"


A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.


Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both this [stomach] and these [foods]. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.


And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. Thus the tongue is set among our members, as that which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.
