"Assuredly I say to you, among [those] born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.


For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.


But Jesus answered and said to him, "Permit it now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness."Then he permitted Him.


Strive to enter through the narrow gate, because many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.


The law and the prophets [were] until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone enters forcibly into it.


For an angel from time to[ ]time descended into the pool and stirred up the water; therefore the first [one] having gone in after the stirring up of the water, became well of whatever disease he was suffering.


Work not for the food which perishes, but for the food which abides unto everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give to you; for [upon] Him God the Father has set [His] seal."


So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
