Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this: After His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found pregnant by the Holy Spirit.


Abraham fathered Isaac, Isaac fathered Jacob, and Jacob fathered Judah and his brothers.


And behold, a Canaanite woman coming forth from that region cried out to Him, saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed."


And having been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming upon Him.


And as Jesus passed by from there, two blind [men] followed Him, crying out and saying, "Son of David, have pity on us!"


And He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there shall be no end."


Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the village of Bethlehem, where David was?"


"Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to seat [Him ]on his throne,


concerning His Son, who came of [the] seed of David according to the flesh,


For the promise that he should be heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through [the] law, but through [the] righteousness of faith.


of whom are the fathers and from whom Christ [came], according to the flesh, He who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.


Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises spoken. He does not say, "And to seeds,"as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed,"who is Christ.


For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,


Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel,


I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify these things to you for the churches. I am the Root and the Stock of David, the Bright and Morning Star."
