When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand, then the evil [one] comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the [seed] being sown beside the road.


And as he sowed, some seed fell alongside the road; and the birds came and devoured them.


And these are the [seeds] beside the road where the word is sown, and whenever they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word which was sown in their hearts.


"Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow.


And some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth.


And those beside the road are they that hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, lest they believe and be saved.
