At that time Jesus answered and said, "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes.


"But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears, because they hear.


Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal [this] to you, but My Father who is in heaven.


And having summoned them, he began to say to them in parables: "How can Satan cast out Satan?


But when He was by himself, those around Him together with the twelve asked Him about the parable.


And He was teaching them many [things] by parables, and said to them in His teaching:


And He said, "To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest [they are] in parables, that 'Seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.'


For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? And if you did indeed receive [what you have], why do you boast as though you did not receive it?


Because it is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts to give [the] light of the knowledge of the glory of God in [the] face of Jesus Christ.


having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,


Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, redeeming the time.


in order that you may walk decently toward those that are outside, and may have need of nothing.


Moreover he must have a good testimony among those outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.


And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true; and we are in Him that is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
