And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?"-that they might accuse Him.


And He said to the [one] who had the withered hand, "Step forward."


Now it came to pass, when He came into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees to eat bread on the Sabbath, that they were watching Him closely.


And having watched [Him] closely, they sent spies who pretended to be righteous, that they might seize on His words, in order to deliver Him to the rule and the authority of the governor.


And the scribes and Pharisees were observing if whether He would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against Him.


But this they said, testing Him, that they might have an accusation against Him. But Jesus, stooping down, began to write on the ground with His finger, not taking notice.


Therefore some of the Pharisees were saying, "This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath."Others said, "How can a sinful man do such signs?"And there was a division among them.
