"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt becomes tasteless, with what shall it be salted? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and to be trampled underfoot by men.


And these are the [seeds] beside the road where the word is sown, and whenever they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word which was sown in their hearts.


And when a large crowd had gathered, and the [people] came to Him from every city, He spoke by a parable:


And other [seed] fell on rock; and when it grew up, it withered away because it had no moisture.


On account of this we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.
