And Jesus went about all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every illness among the people.


Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.


And Jesus, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?"


And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He entered into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and He stood up to read.


Then He went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and He was teaching them on the Sabbath.


Now it came to pass on the first Sabbath of the second month that He was going through the grainfields. And His disciples were picking the heads of grain and were eating [them], rubbing them in their hands.


And He said to them, "The Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."


In these [porches] were lying a great multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.


Therefore some of the Pharisees were saying, "This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath."Others said, "How can a sinful man do such signs?"And there was a division among them.
