Then he released Barabbas to them; and having scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.


So Pilate, wanting to gratify the crowd, released Barabbas to them; and he delivered up Jesus, after he had Him flogged, so that He might be crucified.


And they began to accuse Him, saying, "We found this [Man] perverting the nation, and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, saying that He Himself is Christ, a King."


So Pilate decided [that] their request should be carried out.


And as they led Him away, they laid hold of a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, [as he was] coming from the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might carry it behind Jesus.


But they insisted, saying, "He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to here."


Then they all cried out again, saying, "Not this [Man], but Barabbas!"Now Barabbas was a bandit.


Then he delivered Him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led [Him ]away.


But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked that a murderer be released to you,
