But all these things[ are ]the beginning of sorrows.


And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful events and great signs from heaven.


Remember the word which I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.


But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.


Now on the next day, desiring to know the truth [as to] why he was accused by the Jews, he released him from the bonds, and ordered the chief priests and their whole council to come, and brought Paul down and presented [him] to them.


And they were persuaded by him, and when they called the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and released them.


But Saul was doing injury to the church, going in from house to house, and dragging away both men and women, and putting them in prison.


And falling on the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?"


Therefore subject yourselves to every human institution on account of the Lord: whether to the king as [to one] having authority,


Fear none of those things which you are about to suffer. Behold indeed, the devil is about to cast [some] of you into prison, so that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
