15 And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. Because that which is exalted among men is an abomination before God.

But all their works they do in order to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and they enlarge the borders of their garments.


"Moreover, when you fast, do not become gloomy, like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men [to be] fasting. Assuredly I say to you, that they receive their reward in full.


Whenever therefore you do charitable giving, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be praised by men. Assuredly I say to you, they receive their reward in full.


"And whenever you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray standing in the synagogues, and on the streetcorners, so that they may be seen by men. Assuredly I say to you, that they receive their reward in full.


But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"


But the Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but the inside of you is full of greed and evil.


The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men-swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.


I say to you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself shall be humbled, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted."


And he said, "All these I have kept from my youth."


Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised the others:


And having watched [Him] closely, they sent spies who pretended to be righteous, that they might seize on His words, in order to deliver Him to the rule and the authority of the governor.


who devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation."


and had no need that anyone should testify concerning man, for He himself knew what was in man.


He said to him the third time, "Simon, [son] of Jonah, do you care for Me?"Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you care for Me?"And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I care for You."Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.


(Now this man purchased a field by means of the wages of[ his] iniquity,[ ] and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out.


And they prayed and said, "You, O Lord, knower of all hearts, show whom You have chosen of these two


And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as also [He did] to us,


Therefore by works of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight, for through the law [comes] [the] knowledge of sin.


But He that searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes on behalf of the saints according to [the will] [of] God.


So then judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who also will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make clear the purposes of the hearts. Then each one's praise shall come from God.


rather [let it be] the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible [attitude] of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious before God.


Likewise, younger [people], subject yourselves to [the] elders. And all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility, because "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."


I will kill her children by death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.
