29 So he answered and said to his father, 'Lo, so many years I have been serving you and I never transgressed your commandment; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends.

For I feared you, because you are a harsh man. You take up what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.'


For they, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.


Therefore by works of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight, for through the law [comes] [the] knowledge of sin.


Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. Through what law? Of works? No, but through the law of faith.


For I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, but I died.


He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to him some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except he who receives it."'


Because you say, 'I am wealthy, and have become rich, and have need of nothing'-and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked,
