Since many have attempted to arrange a narrative about the matters which have taken place among us,


The former account I made concerning all things, O Theophilus, which Jesus began both to do and teach,

Therefore I judge that we must not cause trouble for those who are turning to God from [among] the Gentiles;


it seemed best to us, having come to be of the same mind, to send men being chosen to you, with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,


For it seemed best to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to put on you no greater burden except for these necessary things:

Instructing the brothers in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, being nourished by the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed.
