And he said, 'The God of our fathers has chosen you to know His will, and to see the Righteous One, and hear the voice from His mouth.


Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold about the coming of the Righteous One, of whom you have now become betrayers and murderers,


Now the portion of the Scripture which he was reading was this: "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, thus He opened not His mouth.


But the just shall live by faith, and if he withdraws, My soul has no pleasure in him."


But you have dishonored the poor. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into court?


You lust and you do not have. You murder and are jealous and you cannot obtain. You fight and make war. You do not have because you do not ask.


And "If the righteous [one] is scarcely saved, where will the godless and the sinner appear?"
