James 4:11 - English Majority Text Version 2009

11 Do not speak evil of one another, brothers. He who speaks evil against a brother and judges his brother speaks against the law and judges the law. And if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, everyone who judges, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself, for you who judge are practicing the same things.


(for [it is ]not the hearers of the law [who ]are righteous before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified;


What shall we say then? Is the law sin? By no means! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known lust unless the law had said, "You shall not covet."


So then judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who also will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make clear the purposes of the hearts. Then each one's praise shall come from God.


For I am afraid, lest perhaps when I come, I will not find you as I desire, and that I will be found by you as you do not desire; lest perhaps there[ be] contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, disputes, slanders, gossipings, pride, disorders;


Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and blasphemy be removed from you, with all malice.


Likewise their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.


unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, not loving what is good,


Older women likewise are to be reverent in demeanor, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teaching what is good,


Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers.


So then, my beloved brothers, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;


But the [one] who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues [in it], and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one shall be blessed in what he does.


If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself,"you do well;


My brothers, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of evil suffering and of longsuffering.


Therefore be patient, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer awaits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it, until it receives the early and late rain.


Do not murmur against one another, brothers, lest you be judged. Behold, the Judge stands before the doors!


Therefore having put away all malice, all guile, hypocrisy, envy, and all slanders,
