Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the [son] of Zebedee, and John his brother;


Now as He was walking alongside the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.


and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.


Therefore the wisdom of God also said, 'I will send to them prophets and apostles, and [some] of them they will kill and persecute,'

Simeon has declared how God first visited [them ]to take from the Gentiles a people for His name.


Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called [to be ]an apostle, having been separated unto the gospel of God


that is, that I may be encouraged together with you through the mutual faith both of you and me.


For in it [the] righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."


But from Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption;


For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.


Am I not an apostle? Am I not free? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord?


And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, "I believed, and therefore I spoke,"we also believe, therefore we also speak,


For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.


(for He who worked with Peter in [the] apostleship to the circumcised, worked also with me in [that for] the Gentiles),


which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets:


And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,


one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

The elders who are among you I exhort, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed;


through which have been given to us precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through these we may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
