Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.”


David had done a bad thing in God’s sight. So God punished Israel.


Whenever God killed some of them,\par the others would turn back to him.\par They would come running back to God.\par


Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron. Pharaoh told them, “This time I have sinned. The Lord is right, and I and my people are wrong.


If you do, the Lord will see this, and the Lord will not be happy with you. Then the Lord might help your enemy.


The people started complaining about their troubles. The Lord heard their complaints. The Lord heard these things and became angry. Fire from the Lord burned among the people. The fire burned some of the areas at the edge of the camp.


Early the next morning the people started to go up to the high hill country. The people said, “We have sinned. We are sorry that we did not trust the Lord. We will go to the place that the Lord promised.”


But God said to Balaam, “Don’t go with them. You must not speak against those people. They are my people.”


your donkey saw me and turned away from me. That happened three times. If the donkey had not turned away, I probably would have killed you already. And I would have let your donkey live.”


Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned. I did not obey the Lord’s commands, and I did not do what you told me. I was afraid of the people, and I did what they said.


Saul answered, “All right, I sinned! But please come back with me. Show me some respect in front of the leaders and the people of Israel. Come back with me so I may worship the Lord your God.”


Saul said, “You are right, and I am wrong. You have been good to me. But I have been bad to you.


Then Saul said, “I have sinned. Come back, David my son. Today you showed me that my life is important to you. So I will not try to hurt you. I have acted foolishly. I have made a big mistake.”
