Matthew 2:22 - Easy To Read Version

22 But Joseph heard that Archelaus was now king in Judea. Archelaus became king when his father Herod died. So Joseph was afraid to go there. Joseph was warned in a dream. So Joseph left there and went to the area of Galilee.

Jesus was born in the town of Bethlehem in Judea. He was born during the time when Herod {\cf2\super [17]} was king. After Jesus was born, some wise men from the east came to Jerusalem.


After Herod {\cf2\super [31]} died, an angel of the Lord came to Joseph in a dream. This happened while Joseph was in Egypt.


So Joseph took the baby and the baby’s mother and went to Israel.


At that time Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan River. Jesus came to John and wanted John to baptize {\cf2\super [44]} him.


Joseph and Mary finished doing all the things that the law of the Lord commanded. Then they went home to Nazareth, their own town in Galilee.


The Jewish leaders answered, “Are you from Galilee too? Study the Scriptures. {\cf2\super [125]} You will learn that no prophet {\cf2\super [126]} comes from Galilee.”


But Samuel said, “If I go, Saul will hear the news. Then he will try to kill me.”
