“If a man divorces his wife,\par and she leaves him\par and marries another man,\par can that man come back to his wife again?\par No! Mary’s husband, Joseph, was a good man. He did not want to bring shame to Mary before the people. So he planned to divorce her secretly.


The Pharisees {\cf2\super [261]} asked, “So why did Moses give a command allowing a man to divorce his wife by writing a certificate of divorce {\cf2\super [262]} ?”


Jesus answered, “What did Moses command you to do?”
