5 Far be it from thee to do this thing, and to slay the just with the wicked, and for the just to be in like case as the wicked, this is not beseeming thee: thou who judgest all the earth, wilt not make this judgment.


6 If then thou hast understanding, hear what is said, and hearken to the voice of my words.


How long wilt thou speak these things, and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?


For inquire of the former generation, and search diligently into the memory of the fathers:


in the children of men, in whom there is no salvation.


3 But the Lord shall laugh at him : for he foreseeth that his day shall come.


Lift up thyself, thou that judgest the earth: render a reward to the proud.


And shall be broken. Gripings and pains shall take hold of them, they shall be in pain as a woman in labour. Every one shall be amazed at his neighbour, their countenances shall be as faces burnt.


7 For gith shall not be thrashed with saws, neither shall the cart wheel turn about upon cummin: but gith shall be beaten out with a rod, and cummin with a staff.


0 Now will I rise up, saith the Lord: now will I be exalted, now will I lift up myself.


Even to your old age I am the same, and to your grey hairs I will carry you: I have made you, and I will bear: I will carry and will save.


GIVE ear to me, you that follow that which is just, and you that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence you are hewn, and to the hole of the pit from which you are dug out.


For thus saith the Lord to the house of the king of Juda: Thou art to me Galaad the head of Libanus: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities not habitable.


1 And the Lord said to me: The rebellious Israel hath justified her soul, in comparison of the treacherous Juda.


3 They shall lay hold on arrow and shield: they are cruel, and will have no mercy. Their voice shall roar like the sea: and they shall mount upon horses, prepared as men for war, against thee, O daughter of Sion.

Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,

7 They shall lick the dust like serpents, as the creeping things of the earth, they shall be disturbed in their houses: they shall dread the Lord our God, and shall fear thee.

Therefore as I live, saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel, Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrha, the dryness of thorns, and heaps of salt, and a desert even for ever: the remnant of my people shall make a spoil of them, and the residue of my nation shall possess them.


In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came by the hand of Aggeus the prophet, to Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, governor of Juda, and to Jesus the son of Josedec the high priest, saying:

3 Let all flesh be silent at the presence of the Lord: for he is risen up out of his .holy habitation.

0 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but to him that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven.


3 For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.


For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was reputed to him unto justice.


4 I write not these things to confound you; but I admonish you as my dearest children.


9 Thou shalt not lend to thy brother money to usury, nor corn, nor any other thing:


But the Lord's portion is his people: Jacob the lot of his inheritance.


Wherefore laying away all malice, and all guile, and dissimulations, and envies, and all detractions,
