2 And they said: We will restore, and we will require nothing of them: and we will do as thou sayest. And I called the priests and took an oath of them, to do according to what I had said.


3 Being pushed I was overturned that I might fall: but the Lord supported me.


The sorrows of hell encompassed me: and the snares of death prevented me.


I will keep my strength to thee: for thou art my protector:

3 He that led them out through the deep, as a horse in the wilderness that stumbleth not.


Shall I not visit for these things, sayeth the Lord? and shall not my soul take revenge on such a nation?

8 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying: Master we would see a sign from thee.


Dearly beloved, taking all care to write unto you concerning your common salvation, I was under a necessity to write unto you: to beseech you to contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints.


8 His mother looked out at a window, and howled: and she spoke from the dining room: Why is his chariot so long in coming back? Why are the feet of his horses so slow?
