The servants answered: Aman standeth in the court, and the king said: Let him come in.


And let the first of the king's princes and nobles hold his horse, and going through the street of the city, proclaim before him and say: Thus shall he be honoured, whom the king hath a mind to honour.


1 The sound of dread is always in his ears: and when there is peace, he always suspecteth treason.


9 But my enemies live, and are stronger that I : and they hate me wrongfully are multiplied.


Unto the end, for Maeleth, understandings to David. The fool said in his hear t: There is no God. They are corrupted, and become abominable in iniquities: there is none that doth good.


Sing praise to the Lord on the harp, on the harp, and with the voice of a psalm:


The thought of a fool is sin: and the detracter is the abomination of men.


0 I passed by the field of the slothful man, and by the vineyard of the foolish man:


3 With all watchfulness keep thy heart, because life issueth out from it.


0 And the plains shall be turned to folds of hocks, and the valley of Achor into a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.


0 But when thou art spoiled what wilt thou do? though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, and paintest thy eyes with stibic stone, thou shalt dress thyself out in vain: thy lovers have despised thee, they will seek thy life.


4 We have heard the fame thereof, our hands grow feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, as a woman in labor.


4 Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the fenced city, and let us be silent there: for the Lord our God hath put us to silence, and hath given us water of gall to drink: for we have sinned against the Lord.


3 Take away from me the tumult of thy songs: and I will not hear the canticles of thy harp.


You have cast out the women of my people from their houses, in which they took delight: you have taken my praise for ever from their children.


6 For thou hast kept the statutes of Amri, and all the works of the house of Achab: and thou hast walked according to their wills, that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof a hissing, and you shall bear the reproach of my people.


Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremias the prophet, saying: And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was prized, whom they prized of the children of Israel.


0 And he said: The Jews have agreed to desire thee, that thou wouldst bring forth Paul to morrow into the council, as if they meant to inquire some thing more certain touching him.


But to them that are contentious, and who obey not the truth, but give credit to iniquity, wrath and indignation.


7 To no man rendering evil for evil. Providing good things, not only in the sight of God, but also in the sight of all men.


1 He, that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches: He that shall overcome, shall not be hurt by the second death.


6 And when the messengers were come in, they found an image upon the bed, and a goat's skin at its head.
