Because Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my precepts and commandments, and observed my ceremonies and laws.


In the third year of Osee the son of Ela king of Israel, reigned m Ezechias the son of Achaz king of Juda.


7 And all the assembly of them that were returned from the captivity, made tabernacles, and dwelt in tabernacles: for since the days of Josue the son of Nun the children of Israel had not done so, until that day: and there was exceeding great joy.


8 Yea when they had made also to themselves a molten calf, and had said: This is thy God, that brought thee out of Egypt: and hail committed great blasphemies :


Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt: they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies: And they provoked to wrath going up to the sea, even the Red Sea.


To the righteous a light is risen up in darkness: he is merciful, and compassionate and just.


12 I have inclined my heart to do thy justifications for ever, for the reward.


9 I am a sojourner on the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.


28 Therefore was I directed to all thy commandments: I have hated all wicked ways.


35 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: and teach me thy justifications.


37 Thou art just, O Lord: and thy judgment is right.


1 Thou hast rebuked the proud: they are cursed who decline from thy commandments.


50 They that persecute me have drawn nigh to iniquity; but they are gone far off from the law.


3 For princes sat, and spoke against me: but thy servant was employed in thy justifications.


O Lord, deliver my soul from wicked lips, and a deceitful tongue.


1 I have stuck to thy testimonies, O Lord: put me not to shame.


7 I meditated also on thy commandments, which I loved.


1 The cords of the wicked have encompassed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.


7 They had almost made an end of me upon earth: but I have not forsaken thy commandments.


9 I have understood more than all my teachers: because thy testimonies are my meditation.


lest at any time my enemy say: I have prevailed against him. They that trouble me will rejoice when I am moved:


Shall not all they know that work iniquity, who devour my people as they eat bread ?


5 Let them immediately bear their confusion, that say to me : 'T is well, 't is well.


And they have said: The Lord shall not see: neither shall the God of Jacob understand.


9 But hear my words and counsels, and God shall be with thee. Be thou to the people in those things that pertain to God, to bring their words to him:


3 Who leave the right way, and walk by dark ways:


2 A generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet are not washed from their filthiness.


0 The fault is not so great when a man hath stolen: for he stealeth to fill his hungry soul:


THEY have sought me that before asked not for me, they have found me that sought me not. I said: Behold me, behold me, to a nation that did not call upon my name.


For thus saith the Lord concerning the sons and daughters, that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bore them: and concerning their fathers, of whom they were born in this land:


5 They shall say: This land that was untilled is become as a garden of pleasure: and the cities that were abandoned, and desolate, and destroyed, are peopled and fenced.


8 For we account a man to be justified by faith, without the works of the law.


For they that are according to the flesh, mind the things that are of the flesh; but they that are according to the spirit, mind the things that are of the spirit.


5 For that which I work, I understand not. For I do not that good which I will; but the evil which I hate, that I do.


Know ye therefore, that they who are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.


Now I say, as long as the heir is a child, he differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;


6 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose: in the feast of unleavened bread, in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles. No one shall appear with his hands empty before the Lord:


9 And not go aside to either part. Thou shalt not accept person nor gifts: for gifts blind the eyes of the wise, and change the words of the just.
