May the Lord bless thee out of Sion: and mayest thou see the good things of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.


The Lord who is just will cut the necks of sinners:


3 who mounteth above the heaven of heavens, to the east. Behold he will give to his voice the voice of power:


2 His own iniquities catch the wicked, and he is fast bound with the ropes of his own sins.


My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, thou hast engaged fast thy hand to a stranger.


Thou art ensnared with the words of thy mouth, and caught with thy own words.


The blessing of the Lord is upon the head of the just: but iniquity covereth the mouth of the wicked.


My beloved put his hand through the key hole, and my bowels were moved at his touch.


The keepers that go about the city found me: they struck me: and wounded me: the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me.


Thus saith the Lord the redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, to the soul that is despised, to the nation that is abhorred, to the servant of rulers: Kings shall see, end princes shall rise up, and adore for the Lord's sake, because he is faithful, and for the Holy One of Israel, who hath chosen thee.


And the Lord said to him: This is the land, for which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying: I will give it to thy seed. Thou hast seen it with thy eyes, and shalt not pass over to it.


4 And he had forty sons, and of them thirty grandsons, mounted upon seventy ass colts, and he judged Israel eight years:
